I do believe I have been changed for the better

5 years ago my life was changed for the better. I never knew that I would develop such a close relationship with roommates, I never imagined I would love Kansas so much but I do and. Love my Kansas girls (janelle, Chelsea and kaela) more than they will ever know and am grateful that we are the best of friends. It was changed by 5 amazing girls who became my best friends. Thank you janelle, Chelsea, kaela, larissa and Katrina. I'm grateful for them. I'm also grateful for the many others I me my freshman year of college and everyone I met at byu.

Time Goes Quickly By

I've been thinking the last few weeks about how fast time goes by. I can't believe that it's been more than a year since graduation. And most of all i can't believe how much life has changed in the past year and how much it is about to change. In that seemingly short period of time I have become a full-time employee, watched friends leave and come home from missions, traveled to New York, been to weddings, funerals and much much more.

Now, I'll be honest. I hate change. I hate change. oh did I mention that I hate change. But I know that some changes are good and for the better and I guess with change comes new opportunities, new challenges. And from each opportunity something is learned. And although there are changes that I'm not ready to welcome, I will look for anything that I can learn from it.

Also, Christmas is going to be here before we know it. Can you believe it?

I've been thinking about all of the trips I've been on in my life and there have been so many incredible ones. I've been to Hawaii, Florida, Alaska most recently on the best vacation to New York but something that sticks out in my mind is all of the many trips that we went on when I was younger to California. We used to always drive there. My mom used to always wrap presents for us when we were going to travel and to keep us occupied she would let us open one every few hours. So fun. Thanks to all of you who have gone on vacations and trips with me. I love vacationing with my family and friends.

life is hard, but good.

I've been thinking the last few days about life. I've been thinking about all of the struggles my family has been through the last few months, all of the trials my friends have gone through and I found myself wondering why life has to be so hard? I often find myself asking why does that person have to be sick, why do my friends have to suffer heartache, why do loved ones die, why do we have such hard decisions to make.

But I'm grateful to have friends and family that are so incredible and who are there every second of the day and for a Savior who is always there.

Thank you friends and family. I LOVE YOU! Thank you for making life great.

If there is one thing I have learned over the past few months it is to live life to the fullest. Use the words "I Love You" more. Take risks. I know sometimes I'm going to fail, but by failing you learn. Take chances, because sometimes you might discover something amazing. Make new friends, rekindle old friendships and strengthen your current friehdships. Holding grudges doesn't do anyone any good. I know that I am a lot of talk and only a little action. But in the next few months I hope to take a little more of my advice and maybe even take a few risks I wouldn't normally take!!

Welcome 2011

Well, like many bloggers have the past couple days have I'm about to blog about the end of a year that was full of the highest highs and the lowest lows. I don't like being negative so I will not bring out the bad. So I'd love to highlight the top 5 moments of Stephanie Dautel's 2010:

1. My first trip to New York. I've dreamed about going to New York my whole life. And My trip to New York not only reached all of my expectations but it far exceeded anything I have ever dreamt it would be. I loved everything about the city, the trip, and most importantly the loving, kind thoughtful family that took me there. I can't think of anyone better to have gone to New York with. Thank you John, Donna and Alexis.
2. I graduated from college. After four long years and a lifetime of thinking about that moment, I finally did it. I graduated with a degree in Communications from BYU. Honestly, it's so weird to be done.

3. I went on an Alaskan cruise with the most amazing family. This was my first cruise and it was amazing. Alaska is truely beautiful and I got to spend the time with my family! 4. Friendships. I have developed and strengthened so many eternal friendships this year. I can't imagine and don't want to imagine what my life would be like without my friends. I was able to see my best friend leave on a mission, I was able to attend the wedding of another one of my best friends in Nauvoo.
5. I got called to serve in Young Womens in my ward. This is a calling I at times feel completely inadequate to hold. I have so much to learn and I learn something new each day. I love each and every one of the Young Women in the Draper 7th ward and I can't wait to continue to get to know each of you.

This all being said there are many events that happened in 2010 that I will cherish forever but these are some hilights. I will truely miss my grandparents who have died this year but I'm glad they can be together. I also miss my friends on missions. Especially Janelle. But i know without a doubt that they are doing what they are supposed to and I"m grateful for their sacrifice.
My Best Friend Janelle, She is serving a mission in Chile. I miss her like Crazy

I look forward to a bright new year. A year full of goals that I want to reach. A year full of love, friendships and family. New adventures and hopefully some old. I hope that I will have opportunities to travel some more and discover new things about myself, others and the world.

TO NEW BEGINNINGS...

HELLO 2011!!!!!
